Gu Yu is the 6th of the 24 solar terms in the Chinese calendar. It is the last solar term in the spring season.
After Gu Yu, the cold snap is almost over, and the temperature rises quickly, which greatly helps the growth of the grain crops. Gu Yu means “Grain crops grow fast because of rain”.
To Eat: chives, green tea, grains, bamboo shoots, spinach, white lentils, adzuki beans, lotus leaves, mouli, kelp, tangerine peel & leeks
To Do: eat food low in fat and high in vitamins & minerals, nourish the liver and avoid allergies caused by heat & damp toxins.
